Tuscans revel in their culinary heritage, and food is a central part of everyday life in Italy. The Savor Siena Tour will introduce you to the Tuscan food culture and Siena's most typical foods, so join us at the Tuscan Wine School for a walk around Siena as well as a sit down tasting to discover its best foods and practices. Learn about local wine production and taste a typical local white and red wine. Learn to taste extra virgin olive oil, why the Tuscan bread is plain and used in many local recipes. Sample different Pecorino sheep cheeses, distinguish fresco from stagionato with different local jams and honeys. Taste the rare cinta senese, an almost extinct pig that is unique to Siena. Hear of the history of the recipe behind Siena's medieval fruitcake and panpepato, the local pepperbread. Savor Siena offers a chance to not only taste, but to learn about Siena and its wealth of foods. Visit the medieval center and beautiful Piazza del Campo square with your guide, learn of the traditions of history of the town and also how it ties in to the local food and wine.
