Enjoy the magic of the Chianti
countryside with its neat rows of vineyards and pretty medieval villages rich with artisanal stores and beautiful covered walkways. Be intrigued by the surprising number of castles, villas, towers and abbeys that seem to appear out of nowhere and stand as a strong testimony of the tumultuous history of wars between the opposing Republics of Siena and Florence.
On request it is possible to include a traditional Tuscan lunch at a family run winery
where we have the opportunity to meet the locals while savoring famous Chianti Classico
wines while learning about the areas' traditions and legends, such as the one behind its symbol of a Black Rooster
We normally include visits to 3 wineries
on our wine tours, one micro producer which produces good hand-made wines or “boutique wines”, one medium sized and a larger more modern winery. This is to give an idea of the differences between the wines and the techniques used in their production.
If you have one or more wineries of your choice that you wish to visit, let us know and we can see to incorporate them into your tour.
