for an introductory tour and tasting of the world-renown Brunello wine.
Continue to the hill-town of Montalcino
and enjoy leisure time climbing the walls of the fortress where the brave soldiers of the Republic of Siena made their last stand against Florence, or simply wander the streets and enjoy the incredible views overlooking the valley below.
Visit the stunning, ancient and mystical Benedictine Abbey of Sant'Antimo
, a special place set in fabulous landscape which permeates peace and tranquility, truly one of Tuscany's main wonders.
Be welcomed at a family-run winery through a meeting with the owners and winemakers and a visit of the farm before sitting down to enjoy a traditional Tuscan meal
accompanied by the delicious wines produced there.
A visit to a third Brunello winery in the afternoon will complete the tour. Whenever possible, we choose to include different types of wineries on the itinerary so as to offer a broader view of what Montalcino has to offer. We prioritise small and medium sized wineries as we believe that they make more characteristic and artisanal wines, more interesting than the larger ones that everyone visits.
