Cooking Class & Volterra food tour

Hands on Tuscan Cooking and a beautiful Hill Town

Description

Arrive at the venue and begin the morning with a cooking class in a 12th century walled medieval village overlooking the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. Prepare a feast of fresh, local delicacies with the help of one the cook and her family. Have fun learning to prepare the simple and tasty Tuscan dishes and sit down to savour each dish accompanied by rich Tuscan wines.

The philosophy of this cooking class is that good food does not need to be complicated. In fact, the best food is often the simplest. The recipes and cooking style reflect this, through the use of the freshest ingredients, treated simply and with respect, as the foundation for memorable meals.
We believe that food should be delicious and that every meal is a celebration: when entering a Tuscan kitchen, you will not only learn how to execute a menu, but explore how every indregient and its flavour contribute to the whole. Whether you're a casual cook or a dedicated enthusiast, this class will show why it takes more than a recipe to prepare an authentic Italian meal (and why it's worth it!)

In the afternoon, travel through the rolling hills to visit the beautiful and ancient hill town of the Etruscans, Volterra. Be surprised the the work of a craftsman in his alabaster workshop, where you can see the techniques of this ancients art that shapes this delightful, semi-precious stone. Wander the town's amazing streets and squares and see its ancient Roman and Etruscan remains and medieval monuments and enjoy leisure time browsing the stores and sights.
