Micat in Vertice

89th season of "Chamber concerts" at the Chigiana Academy, famous for its great music festivals.
Since 1923 it has been organizing a series concerts titled Winter Micat in Vertice, named after the motto of the Chigi family.
The Music Week has the virtue of having proposed the rediscovery of the music of Antonio Vivaldi, then unknown, with a resounding success so that Vivaldi has since emerged as one of the musicians most welcome to the public. In the wake of this enthusiasm, subsequent editions of the "Week" are characterized by research into little-known sectors of music history, with revivals of mostly Italian composers such as Scarlatti, Pergolesi, Galuppi, Caldara, Salieri, etc..

The Chigiana also operates a re-evaluation of the lesser known or even unknown works of authors of great reputation, with performances of music by Rossini, Donizetti, Cherubini and others.
