immersed in a work of art
Experience an extraordinary day out, discovering that postcard Tuscany that we are so accustomed to. We will visit Pienza the city of pope Pius II, the humanist pope that transformed this small village into the ideal renaissance town. From here we will continue into the heart of the Val d'Orcia, we will visit castles and forts that were the stage of ancient battles such as the Radicofani fort, home to the Italian Robin Hood the Messere Ghino di Tacco the “gentleman brigand” mentioned by Dante.
Our fabulous day in val d'Orcia will start with a stop in Pienza, the utopian renaissance town and a must for the visitor of this area. Here we will taste the good Pecorino cheeses that abound on the tables of these parts. We then continue our day visiting the town of Radicofani and climbing its high tower. A stroll around the hilltop town of Castiglione d’Orcia and Rocca d'Orcia and a final stop in Bagno Vignoni, the hot springs preferred by Lorenzo il Magnifico and Santa Caterina da Siena before heading back to your accommodation. This tour offers plenty of scenic roads and many photo stops.
This tour is only available as a Full day tour (8/9 hours). The tour can be extended to include the Montepulciano or Montalcino area.
