Mushroom and cestnut festival

Palio del Boscaiolo 10 - 16 - 17 October 2010

The days 10, 16 and 17 October 2010 will take place in Vivo d'Orcia, Monte Amiata, the traditional Festival Mushroom and Chestnut. In the restaurant, in covered and heated, open every day of the feast, you can enjoy dishes made with mushrooms and chestnuts. At the food stalls you can buy mushrooms, roasted chestnuts as well as jams and other products. It is a show and mycological along a nature trail you can hike in the picturesque historic natural chestnut.

Sunday, October 17, 2010 Woodman of the Palio. The competition is set in the medieval hermitage. Participate in two districts. Each district is composed of six competitors. Each district has: a torso, two saws, a pot for polenta and 1 table. The goal is to stay at the table after cutting six washers and six strains of wood (from 2 competitors), so you can eat the polenta prepared from the other two competitors. A jury will determine the district winner based on time and work.
